President Andrew Jackson to John Coffee,
February 19, 1832

Congress established the First Bank of the United States in 1791 to serve as a repository for Federal funds. Its charter expired in 1811, but in 1816 Congress created a Second Bank of the United States with a charter set to expire in 1836. By the 1830s the Bank had become a volatile political issue. Some, especially in the trans-Appalachian West, were suspicious of banks because they distrusted the paper money issued by them and because banks controlled credit and loans. To them, the Bank of the United States was the worst of them all: a greedy monopoly dominated by the rich American and foreign interests.

The Bank’s most powerful enemy was President Andrew Jackson. In 1832 Senator Henry Clay, Jackson’s opponent in the Presidential election of that year, proposed rechartering the Bank early. This bill passed Congress, but Jackson vetoed it, declaring that the Bank was "unauthorized by the Constitution, subversive to the rights of States, and dangerous to the liberties of the people." After his reelection, Jackson announced that the Government would no longer deposit Federal funds with the Bank and would place them in state banks. Supporters of the Bank in the Senate were furious and took the unprecedented step of censuring Jackson. The President held fast, however, and when the Bank’s charter expired in 1836, it was never renewed.

My servive learning and N.H.D project

The ideas I have for service learning are to start a club to get people more aware of global warming and ways to prevent it. Next have an article in the newspaper that show animals that can be adopted and are in good health or those that really need of help asap. Finally a movie night that can help people get more interested and aware about how recycling helps the nation.

For my N.H.D project I have a little history and interesting fact for you. First the history: the First National Bank of the U.S. was made because the government need to pay off its debt from the Revolutionary War and to unify the states by making them have one standard from of currency. At first the nation had no single form of money, the states each had there own form of capital for instants if someone from New York brought money from there to Delaware the person from New York couldn't buy anything because that person's money had no value in that state. So in 1791 Congress chartered the First National Bank was completed and signed by George Washington. It was abandon in 1811 and restored in 1976 for the Bicentennial. Here's those facts I promised .

  1. It was the future home of the Civil War Museum in Philadelphia
  2. It's the oldest banking building in America.
  3. It's considered the oldest building in America with a classical facade
  4. The bank's charter was in effect for only 20 year
  5. It cost $110,168.05 to build the bank!
This is just a small taste of my N.H.D project so be prepared to get blown away!!!

The Bill of Rights

The first, second, and forth amendments are my favorite in the Bill of Right. The first one lets us believe in religion not just a certain one that everyone might not believe in. The second the right to bear arm let an citizen who has the right to buy a gun to protect that person and family. The fourth one mean that police or F.B.I can't search your house for anything without a warrant to do so and if they do it is illegal. This are the three rights that are my favored choose.

Famous people I look like

My parents view on the U.S

Don't about the U.S

Inner city public schools are as jam packed as cars on the freeway during rush-hour and the textbooks are even in worst shape a book could be or they don't have enough books for the kids on class. None of the kid have any respect for each other, school property, or the teachers so they are not able to learn the skill they need for the future.

Does about the U.S

That we are willing to help other nation in there time of need.

Proverbs

Talking doesn't fill the basket in the farm (Success requires
planning and hard work.) African proverb

Those who came to the U.S.A. have to find work and they have to work hard at it or they will quickly lose everything they bring here. So the reason I chose this proverb is because if they do they will quickly developed a semi-stable life in the U.S. Also if you already live in U.S and you just got out of college you should already have a plan so you can quickly realize the goal you have set for yourself. Without money the U.S would be one of the worlds great and most advanced superpowers on the face of the Earth. It is because money that we are able to buy oil from other countries and import milloins ton of food food a week it is because of money that the colonies U.S had a revolution against Britain and become a free nation. Money has changes our past, our present, and it will change our future.Money is what make this bule marble world go-round.
